Program Description

SCRAP is a creative reuse warehouse and workshop space dedicated to diverting materials from landfills into the hands of teachers, artists, nonprofits and others who can creatively reuse them. SCRAP's depot holds treasures galore: fabric, paint, paper, toys, frames, plastic, wood, and glass, all at low or no cost. SCRAP also hosts workshops, field trips, materials giveaways for teachers, volunteer events, exhibitions, and outreach activities.

Program Description

senseofplace LAB creates photo-based art projects using science, history, and literature to investigate "sense of place." Our educational component develops workshops and events in collaboration with schools, institutions and groups. For instance, a recent project marked where an underground creek is in downtown San Francisco. Director Laurie Halsey Brown has 20 years of art education experience and has worked with all ages. Recently, she was Program Director for Art With Elders.

Program Description

International performance/sculptural artist Sha Sha Higby is known for her evocative performances using the exquisite and ephemeral body sculpture that she meticulously creates and moves within. She has performed internationally at Festival Internazional delle Marionette; Festival of Sydney, Australia; Singapore Festival of the Arts; Hong Kong Fringe Festival; Tokyo National College Of Art; the Portland Art Museum; Portland State University; California State Summer School for the arts, and more.
